What is Astra?
Altrusa Clubs sponsor ASTRA clubs for youth aged between 13 and 25 to achieve their goals as individuals and community members. ASTRA members benefit from opportunities for mentoring and leadership through local service projects.

District Fifteen has two ASTRA clubs, one in Auckland and one in Oamaru. An ASTRA club is currently in formation in Invercargill.

CONGRATULATIONS ASTRA OAMARU
The ASTRA club of Oamaru based at Waitaki Girls High School were runners-up in the Educational and Child Youth Development Section of the Trust Power "Powering Volunteers" awards. 44 groups applied over 7 different categories and the ASTRA girls were the only youth group to win any - absolutely fantastic. They received a framed certificate and a cheque for $250. The club are donating their prize money to St Johns Ambulance.
