  • Purchase of a chairlift for disabled at swimming pool
  • Developing a memorial garden for families grieving loss of baby
  • Building, maintenance and on going operation of Altrusa House - an emergency accommodation house at Nelson Hospital
  • Contributing to Alan Duff's "Books in Homes"
  • Supporting ARLA - Adult reading learning
  • Implementing a "You Can Do It" reading project with children at Victory School
  • Running a "Tell me a Story" competition for 5-8 year olds
  • Establishing an annual Altrusa Scholarship of $2000 for a secondary school student with who has demonstrated leadership skills
  • Assist financing of the Hospital Buggy to transport elderly and disabled people around the hospital site
  • "Magic Mums" project, delivered biannually, provides a weekend of respite for the mothers of special needs children
  • Hosting an annual UNIFEM breakfast to make funds for women in community leadership in the pacific region
