Altrusa is an organisation actively involved in community service and improving literacy throughout the world. Altrusa Clubs focus on the needs of their own local community.
How often do clubs meet?
This will vary from club to club with some meeting once a month and some twice (or more frequently). The time of the day may also vary but most clubs in New Zealand meet in the evenings.
How much time does being an Altrusan involve?
Depending on the service projects that the Club might be organising and members individual involvement in the project most members would average between 2 and 6 hours service a month.
Who can join?
Anyone who is interested in making their community a better place to live in is welcome to join Altrusa.
How do I join?
Membership in Altrusa is by invitation. Usual practice is for a prospective member to make contact with their local club and come along to a few meetings to get a feel for what Altrusa is about and the projects that the club is involved in.
